The first-cashout checklist: five minutes before you withdraw

Published Oct 18, 2026 · updated Jul 30, 2026

Your first cashout from any program is a small ceremony: it's the moment the whole thing becomes real. A five-minute check before you hit withdraw saves the most common first-timer stumbles.

Confirm the fee situation first. Some programs pay every method free; others quietly charge for small or instant withdrawals while larger or slower ones cost nothing. If waiting two more days or earning two more dollars turns a fee into no fee, that is the easiest money you'll make all week.

Compare gift card bonuses against cash. Plenty of programs sweeten gift cards a few percent above face value. Take that deal only for stores you genuinely frequent. Our rule of thumb on this hasn't changed: cards for places you already spend, cash for everything else.

Check that your payout details are exactly right. A PayPal email with a typo is the classic first-cashout disaster, and support tickets about misdirected payouts are slow everywhere. Thirty seconds of proofreading beats three weeks of email.

Screenshot the confirmation. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred you'll never need it; the hundredth time, a timestamped record of the amount, method, and confirmation number turns a support argument into a quick fix.

And once it lands: that's your proof the model works. This is the natural moment to add your own referral code to the pool, while the goodwill is fresh. The next person's draw can pay you the way someone's code just paid you. Here's what they'll see when your code comes up.
